I find this quite insulting. He/she doesn’t know me and he doesn’t care. &quot;How I am today&quot; is irrelevant to him/her as he/she doesn’t know how I was yesterday or last Thursday and he wasn’t there for me during my knee operation in April. He/she didn’t have to be. He/she doesn’t know me…..which exposes his enquiry as insultingly insincere. 

The best response to this nonsense (probably dreamt up by some 24 year old marketing executive) is to say that you have a headache and could with lying down and taking the phone off the hook!</description>
