From Iran, There Is Only One Question…… And You Will Not Read It On Twitter
The JF Guest Spot
Somayeh Bayat
After much delay, my friend and business colleague, Somayeh Bayat managed to get this article to me from Tehran: Access to all social networking sites has now been blocked and despite trying to send her message via email on a number of occasions, it never arrived, so we had to resort to other means.
She asked me if I would edit it for her, but I decided to publish it as it is – we can safely say that her English is much better than our Farsi. Here it is……….
There is only a question … ?
What should we do about objections? is it correct we hide or refutal or unseen or denial them ?
Yes, everybody can use one of this ways to answer the objections, sometimes we should hide, sometimes, we should be unseen and use different methods to get good result, but what should you do if your audience understand and know about your tricks or your strategy?
How you can force them accept your facts? What do you do for saving yourself in wallowing?
Join me to tell you a real story
Part1; Before Election:
Three months before the election In Iran, everybody thought that there is a fix result and the future would never change, their election predestinations have been written before and they can’t change it. But three weeks before election everything seemed to change. There were four different candidates belonging to four different groups.
In the beginning, they started very normally, but little by little they shocked people by their words, by their behaviour, their policies.
They tried to be a winner, be a president for next four years and people just watched their perfomances.
We saw how they betrayed themselves, how they defamed themselves, how they fought to get power, power and more power …
Someone defamed and slandered someone else, someone tell very big lies in front of lot of TV’s cameras, someone shows some statistics one night and other show some different and told about his lie. How much was is important?
Where is the truth? Who is honest?
People just see, see fight of power, see how power is most important thing in the world and how can they do everything to get it, but where is the people’s value? Where are their benefits? They wish safety, peace, job , better life, facilities. They need respect, they like their revolution. There is more than 7 martyred in a family , they wanted save their child futures.
Four candidates had followers, they came to the streets every night and campaigned.
People tried to understand and be aware, they liked to make a good decisions , that’s why they listen to them very carefully and keen to know more about them.
But, there were a lot of questions …
Why someone use government facilities for his adverts? Why goverment just defends one person’s right.
Why others didn’t have same rights? Why he didn’t let all candidates have lecture in night before election and just let 1candidate to be free and do everything and say whatever that he likes one night before election?
Who are the wealthy and powerful mafias?
Who tell lie and who tell truth?
Who pay more attention to the poor people?
Part2; Election:
At lest everything past, all of games, advertising tricks and political wars and people knew that this is their choice to select who is future president.
Almost 40 million people came and voted, 85% of people who loves their governors, who hoped to the better futures and life, and share the futures, who wanted change …. And most people thought that green color candidate is a winner …
But there were some problems, time of election was finished sooner than before, there were not enough vote’s papers, and ……
And a lot of other questions ….. Every where was full of words ….
Part3; After election:
The end of election‘s day most of the people were wakeful during the night, they followed news of counting and they hoped to win …
in the morning when near 70milion people waited to hear news and celebrate their green win .
But, news shocked them, 20million voted for the previous President till 8 morning ???????
And just 9milion for their loved candidates??????? It’s unbelievable … how can that happen?
All over the country were silent like there was powder of death. Everybody called to their friends and talked about that, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE? CAN YOU BELIVE IT?
This words took till noon and everybody came to streets when counting was finished (more than 24milion for Ahmadi ). How they accounted votes? Most of friends and their friends voted to green (musavi ) , how ????
They came to the streets and saw how much are them, how much the people in the country have same Idea. Millions of people.
They trusted the government and expected to hear right answers “HOW?” They needed to be sure and heard truth. They loved their leader and don’t like see trampled people civil rights.
But what happened? They saw guards and police attack people, they were shocked “Is this the answers “? Is this answer of objections????
It made them angry and angrier; they came to the streets and shouted; now they want to find 2 answers “WHY? And HOW?” How is it possible? And why nobody doesn’t answer them logical.
People see blood, see fire, and see danger and disrespects, to their objections.
People just wish to hear logical answers of their questions and explanation of everything very clear. This is not important how president is now and who wanted to be president before, this is more important just a question of millions people:
“Where is my vote “?
“Where is my vote “?
“Where is my vote “?
It is appropriate that I repeat yesterday’s message:
As you will have heard over the past five days, the people of Iran have bravely taken to the streets in a continuous effort to demand their right to have their votes fairly counted.
The blogosphere, Twitter, and other social media outlets have served as key organizational tools for the protesters and have been at the forefront of bringing raw news and analysis to the outside world. These outlets have also been overwhelmingly used as a way for the world to show its support and solidarity with the people of Iran in their struggle to defend their rights.
I have now displayed a triangle in the top left corner of my blog in support of the Iranian democratic movement. By clicking on the triangle, you can find a brief description of the events which have so far unfolded as well as some links to useful pages – including blogs – that cover the story.
Yet more importantly – the link will show you how you can show your solidarity with the people of Iran, including putting up a similar triangle on your own blog. You can find all this at http://ir.loadedweb.com/
Please ask other bloggers to sign up and join the cause as well. By just making a small and seemingly superficial gesture in this cause, you give hope to the protesters in Iran and encourage them to continue fighting for their right to have their voice heard. Imagine thousands of bloggers coming together in showing their support.
With all of our support, they can know that we are on their side, and that tomorrow will not be like yesterday.
Today, at 12.30 pm GMT (7.30am Eastern) the people of Tehran will again take to the streets, in the largest coordinated protest in the country’s history. This despite warnings from Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that such an event is illegal and they will be punished severely.
Let us hope that twenty years on we are not about to witness another Tiananmen Square massacre.

Jonathan, thanks for the link to the Iran “green triangle” widget. I’ve added it to my blog and encourage others to do likewise.

Thank you Skip – they will be very grateful: Today, I tried to send Somayeh a message of support, but it didn’t get through.
We have however found another avenue to communicate.
I sent her the BBC tapes and she was amazed – nobody in Iran is being informed of what is going on – but they are now!!
